B.W. Powe’s Mysteria, Stream Elsewhere Press, and Voices Calling in the Digital Wilderness
Join us on Tuesday, February 4, 2026 at 7pm for an engaging presentation on Indie Publishing, Stream Elsewhere Press, and the launch of B.W. Powe’s latest collage artefact book, Mysteria.
This event explores what it means to publish a book today—how writing, reading, and circulation happen in the current publishing landscape. We’ll dive into ideas of contemporary Samizdat: the ways books move from person to person, network to network.
The launch will feature readings, dramatizations, music, and reflections from Mysteria—a unique experience blending art, thought, and performance.
Presenters:
BW Powe - Poet, author, philosopher, York University Associate Professor of English and Humanities, conducting readings and performances from his book.
Elliott Sheppard - Co-founder and co-editor, Stream Elsewhere Press.
Michael Mahy - Composer and performer of Mysteria soundtrack (available on Spotify and Apple).
Michael Coghlan - Musical accompaniment by York University Professor of Music, composer and pianist.

BW Powe's graphic poetry and prose experience is a gripping, haunting fusion of visual and literary artistry that captures the intricate beauty and complexity of the human dilemmas before the Pandemic, during it, and after. Blending poetry with dreams and vignettes, thought-provoking mini-essays, short stories and dramatic monologues, fragments and collages, visual art and aphorisms, notebook entries and scraps, Powe explores themes of memory, identities, and the strange shifting natures of reality, drawing on the Canadian and Spanish landscapes, with a deep awareness of cultural and philosophical undercurrents. This new kind of enigmatic form features evocative imagery and calligraphies, pairing visual elements with lyrical prose to invite readers into a multilayered immersion in moments of reflection and discovery. It is a testament to Powe’s innovative voice and ability to bridge the poetic and visual, the difficult and the obscure, making every page a unique journey through words and images. The book is available for purchase on Amazon or from the publisher directly at steamelsewherepress.com
