Reserve Lending Policy

Books and other materials in Reserve collections normally may be borrowed by University borrowers for periods ranging from two hours to 3 days as determined by each Reserve unit. These materials may not be renewed.

2-Hour Loans

  • Reserve material with one copy: the patron must wait 30 minutes after returning the material before signing out the same book.
  • Reserve material with two or more copies: the patron may borrow another copy of the material provided there are other copies available on the reserve shelf. If there are no copies available at the time of return, the patron must wait 30 minutes before signing out the same book.
  • Fine: $3.00 per hour or any portion thereof to a maximum of $100.00 per item.

1-Day and 3-Day Loans (except iPads)

  • Reserve material with one copy: the patron must wait two hours after returning the material before signing out the same book.
  • Reserve material with two or more copies: the patron may borrow another copy of the material provided there are other copies available on the reserve shelf. If there are no copies available at the time of return, the patron must wait two hours before signing out the same book.
  • Fine: $5.00 per day or any portion thereof to a maximum of $100.00 per item.

iPads

  • Files left on iPads will be deleted to protect patron privacy.
  • Due to high demand, patrons must wait two hours after returning an iPad before borrowing another.
  • Fine: $5.00 per day or any portion thereof to a maximum of $100.00 per item.
