Library Accounts and YU-cards

Your YU-Card is Your Library Card

Please note: If you are not a York University student, staff or faculty member, please see our External Borrower page.

Students, Faculty and Staff require a valid YU-card to access many library resources and services.

Please apply for a YU-card through the YU-card webpage.

My Library Account

Borrowers with a valid YU-card can access their Library Account with their Passport York login.

Library Account information includes:

  • items currently on loan
  • due dates
  • status of item requests
  • fines and charges

Please note: Borrowing privileges are suspended immediately for university borrowers with charges of $25.00 or more.

For more information see Borrowing, Returning & Fees/Charges

Library Account and YU-Card Troubleshooting

If you have a YU-card, but still cannot access e-resources or your library account:

  • Please ensure you have downloaded the YU-card to your mobile device’s wallet.
  • If you recently downloaded the YU-card, please wait up to 24 hours for access to your library account.
  • If you are unable to download the YU-card, please contact the YU-card office
  • If your YU-card is locked because you tried to download it on more than one device, please contact the YU-card office
  • Check the expiry date of your physical YU-card, if you have one. If your card is expired, please apply for a new card.
