Your YU-Card is Your Library Card
Please note: If you are not a York University student, staff or faculty member, please see our External Borrower page.
Students, Faculty and Staff require a valid YU-card to access many library resources and services.
- access the libraries' databases, e-books and articles
- request items in Omni
- borrow books
- pick up items in the book lockers
- print using the copiers and 3D printers
- borrow equipment from the Media and Maker Labs
Please apply for a YU-card through the YU-card webpage.
My Library Account
Borrowers with a valid YU-card can access their Library Account with their Passport York login.
Library Account information includes:
- items currently on loan
- due dates
- status of item requests
- fines and charges
Please note: Borrowing privileges are suspended immediately for university borrowers with charges of $25.00 or more.

Library Account and YU-Card Troubleshooting
If you have a YU-card, but still cannot access e-resources or your library account:
- Please ensure you have downloaded the YU-card to your mobile device’s wallet.
- If you recently downloaded the YU-card, please wait up to 24 hours for access to your library account.
- If you are unable to download the YU-card, please contact the YU-card office.
- If your YU-card is locked because you tried to download it on more than one device, please contact the YU-card office.
- Check the expiry date of your physical YU-card, if you have one. If your card is expired, please apply for a new card.
