Welcome to all new and returning York University students! The Bronfman library is excited to have you back on campus. We've put together a great welcome back display to help you build your academic skills and prepare for the new school year.

Our display highlights the wide variety of books the Bronfman library has on topics such as making impressive presentations, working on group projects, researching and writing business papers and projects, and building your network with tools like LinkedIn. Some of the books in our display include:

  • The Case Study Handbook: How to Read, Discuss, and Write Persuasively about Cases by William Ellet
    • Business students end up doing A LOT of case analysis assignments, whether they’re in an undergrad or grad program. Our advice is – don’t fear the case analysis assignment – instead, embrace it by checking out this book and learning how to read and analyze business cases and craft the perfect case-based essay.
  • HBR’s 10 Must Reads on Teams by Harvard Business Review Press
    • Teamwork is a critical part of the business student’s life at York! While working in teams to complete an assignment is not always the easiest task, this great compilation of HBR articles will help you better understand how to create a collaborative team environment and move past major disagreements in groups.
  • The Introverted Presenter: Ten Steps for Preparing and Delivering Successful Presentations by Joanna Wolfe
    • Does the thought of presenting in front of your peers and professor terrify you? Then check out this book! It will teach you some tried and tested methods for overcoming your presentation anxiety.

We've also collected a number a pamphlets about different student support services on campus such as the Writing Centre, the ESL Centre, and the Learning Commons. Check out our mini-display by the Bloomberg terminals.
