Celebrate Open Access Week with the Libraries

Celebrate Open Access Week with the Libraries

The week of October 22 to 28 marks International Open Access Week. The Libraries are celebrating #OAweek with a movie screening and a series of open textbook and open data displays throughout the Keele campus.

Screening of Paywall: The Business of Scholarship
Join us for a special screening of Paywall: The Business of Scholarship. This documentary explores the high-cost of the academic publishing model and highlights the need for open access models in scholarship.

Event details:

  • When: Tuesday, October 23, 1pm-3pm
  • Location:  Osgoode Hall Law School, Ignat Kaneff Building (IKB), Room 1003

The film screening will be followed by a guided discussion. Light refreshments will be served at this event.

Book displays on Open Textbooks and Open Data
The Bronfman Library, Scott Library, and Steacie Library will be hosting book displays that highlight how open textbooks and open data create more equitable learning and research environments. To learn more about these topics, check out the Libraries' OER guide and York's guide on Open Data.
