Shown here our student workers at the Bronfman Business Library on April 24th 2014 at a small staff social event to acknowledge their work during 2013/14.

In backrow, left to right: Rochelle Braham, Jacky Hubbard, and Edwin Lai. In front-row and sitting foreground, left to right: Glenn Kogan, Shukitha Somadeva and Kyran Griffin. Note: Anshul Arora and Bob Paan (not shown here) are also student workers at Bronfman.

There are some very important employees at our library, shown in the picture here, who make it possible for our library to offer many essential services. We’re referring to our student workers (YUSA Unit 2 Staff). Notably during the most recent academic year, they were instrumental in enabling us to offer more extensive hours, beginning Fall Term 2013 by popular demand. Read more about our longer hours.

Each Fall and Winter term we usually have eight or nine students working part-time at the Bronfman Business Library, with three students working with us during most summers.

They offer service on our circulation/reserves desk, including charging and discharging items, processing fine payments, making library cards, answering directional questions, and searching for known items and reserve items in our catalogue. Other regular duties include counting the till at closing, searching for books that appear to be lost/missing, as well as trouble-shooting and maintaining our photocopiers and printers, and doing shelving and shelf-reading. They also help with miscellaneous projects, as required.

So a shout-out to our student workers as core members of the BBL team who help us to provide essential services, including longer hours! Thanks for all their work and contributions during 2013/14!
