To be good researchers, students need to understand how to develop effective research questions, the ways in which various academic fields structure their literatures, the differences between popular and scholarly treatments of a subject, to understand the world of Artificial Intelligence, and how to locate, evaluate, use, and cite the resources needed. In addition, they should have an understanding of the social, cultural and ethical issues surrounding the production and use of information in a variety of contexts, including digital technologies. York University Libraries offer a range of services to support students as they develop their IL and DL knowledge and skills.
