Key services are:
(1) Interactive Chat with a York Librarian
YorkU community members may now chat online with a librarian from York University Libraries. Not only can you ask your question using basic chat text features, but you may also use Zoom to talk and screen share.

(2) Virtual Consultations with York Librarians
For research assistance, we offer consultations using Zoom by appointment. These are recommended for more in-depth assistance or complex questions.

(3) Ask a Librarian Chat / Clavardez avec nos Bibliothécaires!
A third option for help comes through York’s consortial partnership with other Ontario universities to offer chat and texting services to students and faculty at all partner universities.
This service is staffed by York librarians together with librarians from other Ontario universities. This service can be used any time it's open but comes especially recommended when our local chat service is busy or not open. If Ask a Librarian is closed, you may submit a question which will be answered on the next business day.
